That is some serious bling Jo! Can't wait for it to get down, hopefulpy it'll be on my doorstep when I get back from beervana?:)
And don't start the southern hemisphere reverse rotation toilet flush please. Took me 2 years to convince the in-law fa…
Very disappointing indeed. One countdown in town was enough, now we have 3!
Geoff, do you know the general beer policy at pack n save? maybe the new store down the road will pick up the ball when they open.
I recon you should get 4 flasks and sell them to other people here, 29% is a pretty good saving and $46 is a sharp price.
The stir plate is only 120 in diameter, i think that will be too small for a 5 liter flask. besides you need something with eno…
hmmm, probably wont matter too much. If you keep it warmer, the yeast will kick in faster but so would any bacteria but it sounds like the fermenter it plenty clean. 24 is a bit high though, so in that scenario I would probably pitch at 16 and then…
I hear you! but at least they are selling good beer. when I lived in auckland foodtown didn't have anything that was brewed in less than 1 million hecto liters per year.
oh one more thing:) you could also transfer the wort to the fermenter boiling (assuming it's plastic, not glass!), seal it of and let it cool by it self over night. That would certainly take care of any bacteria in the bucket. then in the morning sh…
NZ: Smoking Bishop, Emerson Dunkelweizen and Old 95 Renaissance Porter and Stonecutter (I help make them).
International: Orval, Rochefort 10, Fuller's Golden Pride, a lot of American and a few danish microbrews that really hit the nail.
I like big beers...:)

Great thanks Soren, Going to be over about 11 on Friday. So you guys are by the entrance to the Top 10 then? I thought you were over on the park side by the Old Bank pub. I'll come in and see if your round. Thanks Dale
Hey, congrats on starting 8 Wired Brewing :) I've heard great things but havn't had a chance to try yet, waiting for beerstore to get more HopWired in stock. So next time you're up Hamilton way, you should visit us at the Ruakura Club!
Finally got to try Hop Wired last night Soren. Its insane, the best NZ IPA I've ever had, and its not like there is no competition. I hope the renaissance guys aern't too jealous! Love your work.

Hi Soren
Thanks for the note.
Have been busy shifting to Wellington and trying to find a job.
Sure you can add own beers but you do need to register as a brewer, here is a link to find out more. Joe is normally pretty quick in setting people up.
All the best with brewery, I look forward to sampling some of your beers soon and providing some feedback on ratebeer.
Hey Soren, Great to see the 8 wire logo sitting with the other beer taps is something someone should have taken a photo of for you. Good beer, very drinkable with a nice roasty finish and lingering bitterness. Everyone who had a pint looked pretty happy. Looking forward to your next effort.
Would be great if you could, see how it goes. I'd imagine I'd want to be there too if I was putting a new beer out to the public. Thats the problem with Wellington and Blenheim, so close but so far away. I'm sure Colin would be cool with it, he's one of the judges for the APA comp.
Hey Soren, Any chance of getting a sneak preview of 8 wire brewings first effort to the Malthouse on the 8th of Nov for the APA comp? I'm sure there will be quite a few of us eager to taste if you thought it ready. Cheers
