drawing off the one liter, adding hops and leaving it for 20 mins before adding it back would be to steep the hops I think. you could also do this with the full boil, add the hops at flameout and let it sit for 20 mins before cooling, I think that...

Would be great if you could, see how it goes. I'd imagine I'd want to be there too if I was putting a new beer out to the public. Thats the problem with Wellington and Blenheim, so close but so far away. I'm sure Colin would be cool with it, he's one of the judges for the APA comp.
Hey Soren, Any chance of getting a sneak preview of 8 wire brewings first effort to the Malthouse on the 8th of Nov for the APA comp? I'm sure there will be quite a few of us eager to taste if you thought it ready. Cheers
Hey bud I used Global Munich which is 25EBC, I think its the same as Munich II
Mash temp - Im not too sure sorry mate, my therm was playing up so its not what ive got written down, I used US-05 and got from about 1055 to 1020, I know it would have gone lower if I mashed around 66-67, but I was getting under-attenuation problems with all of my beers at the time...
There are more fruity flavours then citrus that come through from the 6 different hops and the combination of malts etc, No Wheat beer yeast or malt is used in this beer style. Due to our production process there is no chance off cross contamination from the wheat beer yeast. We have done an IPA which is lower in bitterness then some of the highly hopped New Zealand IPA's which you may be comparing us with.
Hey Soren, I see you are coming to BrewNZ. I am coordinating the volunteers. Did you know that if you volunteer for a session, you can get into another for free? Drop me an email at stephaniecoutts@yahoo.com.au if you are interested. I can send you the volunteer form. Steph.

Hey mate, look out for micros like Mountain Goat Moonshine, Nail stout, Jamieson The Beast IPA, Matilda Bay has some good beers, Bridge Road too. Knappstein Reserve lager is impressive and worth sourcing out. Moo Brew PA is great as well and of course the Murray's range. Most of these should be available at the Taphouse. Enjoy Sydney and drink well...Cheers!
