I picked up on this from AHB - is this good news for supply ? http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2009/10/glut_of_hops_unlikely_to_lower.html

I heard a rumour that Liberty Brewing is getting a whole pile of different US hops in. Fresh 2009 harvest too.

Brewer's Coop in AK had some perle and target a while back, would be worth giving Mike and email. Columbus, I believe Mike has some, if he doesn't craftbrewer.com.au for columbus and chinook.

I made a little bag and the wire rapped it to the end of my tube and then transfer to the bottling bucket.

You could attach a nylon bag on the end of the tube ... it's working for me and picks up all of the dry hops bits that are either in the tap or get pulled in as the last of the beer comes through. Just remember to sterialise it first.

The volume of liquid you want to heat will have a big affect on which burner will be better for you ... more liquid, the longer it takes to heat ... I have a single fat "turkey burner" which takes about an hour to get 28 liters up from 12 to 75 d...

now I have too many choices .... I shall have to make more batches now :o) ... oh the pity ....
October 29
That does look better ... I'll give it a brew next week with my new BIAB.

I wouldn't say 'copious' amounts. The idea is a pint and catch up with mates over lunch. Unfortunately there's often a decent selection available so we 'share' some 'tastings'.

Matthew what do you do for a job that allows you to consume copius amounts of alcohol at lunch time??? Gonna hook us up? ;o)

Hi Simon. I am actually going up there for the long weekend as my parents live in the 'Rei. If you wanted, you could try and get them and I could grab them Monday (assuming you can get payment to the guy in time). I could bring them back to Cambridge and we could arrange freight to Wellington. Alternatively, I am sure my parents could pick them up at some stage during the week and we could arrange freight to Welly from Whangarei.
