Classic. Had a mate over from Alaska the other week who clearly didn't want to arrive empty handed and nipped off to the local supermarket and came back with a box of Tui. I can't say I'm a fan of any mainstream NZ beer really, and there is just too…
Hi Everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place to mention that we've nervously gone against our real ale ethos and sent 10 x 20litre bags of Old House ESB, Cathcarts NTA, Westons Best, Number 9 and Dinner Ale to BeerNZ. Hope they'll to make H. Zak…
0.149x(required mash temp-grain temp)+required mash temp=strike temp- 0.5deg C for thermo dynamic wotsits and bingo de bongo. Spot on. (All figures in Deg C.)
OR, 0.149x(66-13)+66=73.9-0.5=74.3C
No sweat.
Apple harvest fro our cider orchard isn't till late march though, then a couple of weeks to rest the fruit, then ferment which takes 3 weeks or so (cool and slow.)
Drop me a line end of April.
Cheers, M
G'day Martin. My wife and I were Golden Bay for a long labour weekend. I bought the bottled ESB and Cathcart NTA at the New World in Motueka and, on the way back to Nelson to fly out, managed a quick swifty of the Celebration Ale (I think that's what it was called) at the Moutere Inn. Loved all three, but the ESB and Celebration were tied as my favs. I really wanted to try the ESB on hand pull (might have been a clear #1 then) but the cask was empty at the Inn when we arrived. Bloody awesome ales!
