Craig Bowen, at BeerNZ, has sneakily held back the last keg of Yeastie Boy's first batch. We're off to brew the second beer at the end of this week but we'd like SOBA members and the RealBeer community to decide where that last Pot Kettle Black keg goes.

So...

Where would you like to see it go? Vote for your preferred location and give us a reason why? We'll approach them and hopefully (assuming they want to keep it funky like Lee Dorsey) they'll have it on tap as soon as possible.

The floor is open.

Oh he so is. Never drive over railway tracks with him in the car or spill salt. Actually, it is kindof fun to spill salt in front of James. So much entertainment! ;)
Yeah - but who cares? We are drinking it aren't we? Lots?
Yep, Wellington is the beer capital. But Christchurch is becoming quite a big dog. And Hamilton is quite the never-say-die Terrier.

And Auckland... Auckland is sad. But I'm a bit of a socialist, so I'm thinking that as well as winning the vote, they might get some Yeastie Boy "support" as well (and Sam, the other Yeastie Boy, is from there and is really thirsty).

I guess Galbraith's is leading the way since Stephen Plowman pulled Hallertau out... I wonder if I can convince Keith 'The Rock' Galbraith on a second approach?
Suggestion: Everyone here from Auckland go to Galbraiths and ask for the beer by name. Consumer demand, you socialist scum! ;)
Thats two for the Twisted Hop in Sleepy Hollow...Just so's I can nip out every lunchtime and enjoy a pint or three
Maybe the commercial hotel in Whakatane!
Next week the mata beers are on tap free as I understand, that will bring in alot of local beer enthusiasts and of course most of those will be there for the free beer, but yeastie boys would bring a completely new style to the neighborhood and hopefully turn some of the drinkers of the usual suspects to spending their money on something completely different! and pot kettle black would be a great way of introducing a dark beer, easy drinking, and full of flavour
The mata may be good to them but the yeastie boys will knock their socks off.
Theres an untapped market there, mata's got it moving, but theres (Bay of) Plenty of opportunity here I Think.
I vote Galbraiths as well, would be good to see it up here.
I didn't count the votes but Auckland seemed to be winning (even pipping the greedy Wellingtonians), so...

I've just talked to Galbraith's and the keg will be heading their way soon. They will let us know when it goes on... If you aren't there on the first night I'm guessing you'll have to wait until next September/October to try the next incarnation of 'Pot Kettle Black'.

Yussssss :o)

Youre expecting it to sell out in one night? Dont spose itll be there for my bday dinner? 6th of November? ;oP
fantastic....I will make it there to try some...let us now when it will be on.
What a great result, not supplying the beer to a bar that ordered it and giving it to one who didn't.

I cant see Hallertau supporting the yeasty boys in the future but I wish you all the best in marketing your products through lame web stunts rather than supplying actual orders.

We have the Fullers London Porter on tap at the moment, we ordered it, it was delivered. The yeasty boys might try that some time.

Steve Plowman
Hallertau
Steve - sorry you feel that way. However, rather than bitching you might want to take that up with Craig at BeerNZ who distributes the beer and has done an outstanding job for every bar that has actually ordered it. Craig never received an order and never got a response to his enquiries. We didn't actually approach Galbraith's until after he'd confirmed this AND tried to follow up with you.

As I said earlier, I love Fuller's London Porter. It even tastes good oxidised. If I lived up that way I'd be out there for a taste. And I'd be out there regularly to try your beers too... they're always exciting.

Hope you enjoyed the sample as I imagine you'll not be heading out to Galbraith's.

Good health
