Yeh, it was an impressive piece of kit Hugh. I'd love to have a breonus two on it... There were a couple of minor things on it that I thought could probably be improved but I'd need a longer look to be sure and a damn fine little brewery no matter w…

you wouldn't believe how many people asked me "How much Riwaka is in the Motueka Monster?" I believe 'diesel' is another term that people get drom Riwaka.

Now I really do need to try it.... 'twas awesome in its day. The kind of beer that'd make my top 10 NZ beers every year.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... the bit i missed out was how it had, since, turned into a DMS bomb that verged on smelling like a homeless man. It's been a couple of years since I tried it because I had a few really bad experiences in a row.…

Wanaka Brewski, about 5 years ago, was my number one NZ pilsner by a country mile... it's been a long time though. I can recall it well enough to know that if it was at its best now, it would still be the best. Bohemian influenced rather than German.

i lost my voice this week and now sound like the guy in the intro of this show... so is Soren going to be on this one too or is he on something else?

jeeze, that "article" is ripe for a spoof response from SOBA... The Society of Beer Advocates (SOBA) intends to continue its fight against the 5-year old trademark of "Radler", a 100-year old German term, despite the stance of Dutch-owned imperial…

you're right on... it'll be a while before you see another hoppy seasonal tap beer from us. His Majesty and PKB Remix (US hopped, along the lines of my first homebrew) will be hoppy but will both be 750ml bottles... the next few tap/handpump release…

One of our versions of what NZ Draught could be (if it tried) is on handpump at Bar Edward and Hashigo Zake now... will be out to other places in the next few weeks. I had three very complimentary texts from three of my most admired brewers, all of…

Thought I'd highlight some of the highlights of the awards on the night... Croucher's: * International Lager Styles -The Croucher Brewing Company - Pilsner HUGE award for Paul and the team. This had to be one of the most feelgood awards of the nigh…

global warming warra! in recent years it's been rare for it to be under 30c on most summer days. ;-)

there are usually not many people drinking at it but quite a few looking at it...

You might struggle to find some of those beers at Beervana... I'm sure Tui will be there but not sure about any of the other "draughts".

Yeh, do both at the same time. But I wouldn't put the gas on the beer out tube. It'll stir everything up, which has the opposite effect of what you are tryng to achieve with the CC'ing. With CC'ing you're giving the beer a chance to get to know its…

Shared a few with an old friend Eastie Boy's Feijoa Amber - my second ever fruit beer, lol Yeastie Boys Her Majesty - I'm feelin' it Mike's IPA (batch 2) - Whoa! Needs two months to integrate I reckon Yeastie Boys Motueka Monster - cellar aged is s…

flavour descriptors... or should that be flavor?
Malt names and comparative names across different companies/countries... e.g. Biscuit = Aromatic = Victory = Amber = Melanoidin... not exact but very good.

Awesome mate, cheers!! I was lucky enough to do a bottle side by side tasting with Jo, but from what I read in the past few days there is quite the difference in the bottle and tap versions... To me Yakima in the bottle had a lagerish character to it, and an almost crisp finish!!
