At the Beervana I took the time to check the very sexy looking Farra Engineering Nano Brewery, think it was 60 L batch size. Has anyone got one of these or even used one? I really want them to build me a shinny mash tun, with sprinklers...

That was up on Trademe - no one bid and the watchers got a fixed price offer of three thousand something. I dont know if anyone accepted.
It would be awesome to have but hard to justify the cost for an individual to buy. Perhaps some sort of brew club/consortium or a brew on premises business could buy it so it could get the regular use it deserves. How often can you brew 60L of beer for yourself?
The one at beervana was the one on trademe... Someone who was going to Beervana had purchased it.
We recently commissioned a 100L fermenter from Farra. Supreme craftsmanship and they were completely open to customising to our needs. Price was surprisingly reasonable too given the quality of work and knowing what the materials would have cost. If you calculate how much you would spend cobbling together that trademe setup I think its actual very cheap, I have my own TIG and doubt I could build something as shiny and functional for too much less...
If 10 weekend warriors put in $300 each you could get a weekend day on it every 5th weekend. About the time it takes to ferment and cold condition a beer and have a week off.
Yeh, it was an impressive piece of kit Hugh. I'd love to have a breonus two on it... There were a couple of minor things on it that I thought could probably be improved but I'd need a longer look to be sure and a damn fine little brewery no matter what.

You could run the thing without a pump but, really, if you're spending that much on gear you'd probably just go with the pump rather than a manual recirc.
It's worth noting that the awesome crew at Farra are sponsoring this year's NHC with a sexy 30L Conical fermenter, such as the one on display at Beervana too. They are a great bunch of people, and well worth supporting if you have the $$$ to spend on the kit. They're happy to customise within reason too. I've attached a flyer which will go out with the results from the NHC for your info.

Cheers,

Greig.

Indeed, very impressive gear.
I almost bought the one on trademe myself but in the end I had Joseph from liberty brewing build me one from scratch instead. it's still in transit but the pictures and descriptions have been very promising. the main advantage is electric heated HLT, thermostats, pump and whirlpool. Unless you hear me bitching when I get it, I can thoroughly recommend his service.
I need to get a 100 L fermenter though, pretty sure I'll go the Farra way for this, their craftmanship is superb and they are good people.
Boo conversion dosnt look like its taken place (flyer photo) still alot of milk running into the kettle best they bring the temp upto 72 in the kettle and hold it there for a bit to convert it!! hahaha,

Great well made kit, would love to spend another +2k on top of the 3 tier and then I think you would have the best most easiest kit to use oin the country, keep up the good work Farra (as long as us cheap homebrewers pay your bills)
Yeap Rhys Genever is the guy I dealt with, shipping of the fermenter to Auckland was also very reasonable so no gouging there either. I see our new addition is actually pictured at the bottom right of that flyer :D
Maybe I should sell my car and buy this set up? haha, It is so awesome!!
That is a thing of beauty. Top of my list when I win the lotto
ditto Barbara!
