Ratebeer's beer of the day is an interesting choice.

Makes me wonder... what beer do you miss the most?

Must have been a pretty old batch that MrGGen had a taste of for him to have rated it on Saturday!
I miss Limburg Hopsmacker, because I only had one bottle of it and really liked it at the time. Would really like to give it another shot.

Other than that, nothing really, don't think I've been in the beer scene long enough.
Can it be non-commercial? If so, I miss my Munich Dunkel so badly!! :o(

Otherwise - Emersons Maris Gold and Bourbon Porter, cos ive never tried em, but I guess that dont count as missing them, more like longing for them ;oP lol
Lion's Brewmasters Selection Settlers Original Ale
Mac's Copperhop
Mac's Nelson Reserve

For me, the beers between megaswill and craftbeer were Mac's and Monteiths (once I could afford them). I'd pick the three beers above for sentimental reasons - I drank a lot of copperhop (tasted like tobacco?) and nelson reserve, and I recall drinking the brewmasters at Kitty's as a student - me and my mates concluded that it tasted like apple crumble!

If I chose based on taste rather than nostalgia, Limburg hopsmacker and pilsner.
You just reminded me of one of my all time fave's - nostelgia to boot.... Mac's Extra - who remembers that beauty of a beer? I miss it for sure!
Yeah.. I used to really enjoy Mac's Extra on Tap at Diggers Bar in Hamilton.. Then they stopped kegging it :-(

I don't know what I would think if I had it today.. now that my beer world is much larger. Sometimes the memory is better than the product.

Daniel
Limberg Weizenbock

Fullers ESB, circa 1985. Far far better than what they brew now, and yes I'm comparing cask versions. I don't think my memory is playing tricks, thou I wouldn't rule it out
I used to live in a town called Iserlohn, Germany. Iserlohner pilsener- sharp, crispy, bitter German pilsener. Mind you Warsteiner was not far away, a fresh bottle of that, would just about make me spit in my rompers.
