Ordinary bitter, subtle beer this.
Pour hard to release some carbonation and serve 'warm' in a pint glass.
Maris Otter, crystal, with subtle additions of NZ Styrians. That is all.

After reading that Ally poured into a jug, thought I'd better add that this beer is NOT bottle conditioned. Appears to be the only one in the case swap that isn't.
It's bottled from the keg, no need to decant off the lees, just drink it.

I had this last night, it is indeed subtle but very nice all the same :-)
I think i'll try brewing this myself so there's a compliment. Its the sort of beer you could drink quite a lot of.
Better go Simpsons is on!
I had this on thursday night but havnt been near a PC to post it, but I wrote it down at the time, so here goes...

Pours a light amber with a very decent creamy head with awesome retention! Brilliant clarity, as usual Barry ;oP Soft bready malt aroma with hints of caramel and ever so delicate and subtle fruity esters. Slightly thin mouthfeel but the creamy head aids this, I guess I expected a bit more body allthough im not sure why? This is a small beer afterall! Extremely quaffable and refreshing, flavours of soft honey maltiness with a very soft well balanced bitterness!

I honestly couldnt get over the lacing and head retention with this beer, it was amazing! I had a 1cm head when the beer was finished, now thats awesome!
third case swap of the night. Can't help but think of the brandenburg gate. Anyway

poured gently into 1 litre vessel then hard into pint glass... pours golden tan with wispy head. appealing.
aroma = num. I get soft fruits and beef tea which i like, weirdly. sort of japanese resturanty. struggling here tho
taste - lovely. Smooth and caramelly with soft tannins to keep the drink going.
bravo. not sure what to say re taste etc but its a lovely beer. i could drink more
slainte
What a great beer. Delicate, floral aroma. Fantastic appearance. Vanilla notes, nice honey-malt flavours, and a interesting spicy bitterness - reminded me a little of tumeric.

Cheers Barry - love your work.
Golden going on amber. The slightest of haze. Single finger head that hangs around nicely. Very nice lace.

Styrians come through nicely in aroma, very bready on the malt side, maybe a slight wine-like character.

Flavour is good, a touch of caramel and light breadiness, crisp, pleasant grainy finish, a touch bitter, balanced great.

Easy drinking, mouthfeel and carb spot on.

Very nice bro, this would be the hell good beer for summer I reckon.
After the last case swap I was anticipating a great beer from Bazza, and you didn't disappoint!

Pour amber off gold, with a nice head, thanks for the tip about warm and hard pour. It was a little dull in clarity, with a good head, no real evidence of lacing, however I may have had it a little too cold.
Medium intensity in aroma seemingly bready and raisin with malty backing. More of a herb bread smell. The flavour is quite intense with raisin?? The taste is quite dry, with light carbonation.
I found the beer more chewy that I am used to, but at the same time meaty burps...

Probably not a session beer for me being a lager swilling fool, but opens my eyes to possibilities to brewing a bitter. Thanks Baz!
Jade Mick and I had this beer last night among other beers from the swap.

I think our bottle might have been a bit infected. it poured a nice amber colour with a creamy head, however the nose was excessively bready and yeasty, some caramel malt aroma but little to no hop aroma, some fruity esters. creamy mouthfeel with the carbonation but again a certain yeastiness dominated. it could have been the storage of the bottles in a warm environment, who knows...
it always is a home brewers nightmare to discover this, as we all too are aware with our case swap brew

it feels bad saying this as the other brewers rave about the beer, which i'm sure is great. I think our bottle was funky. We really look forward to trying your beer another time Barry. Cheers
Aw mate that stinks. Sorry bout that. Next time I'll make sure you get a good one :)
Cheers for the feedback. The flavours you describe don't sound that catastrophic, did you have to tip it out or was it just not enjoyable?
Nah we didn't tip it out, it was just not that enjoyable. There were definitely certain aspects/characters in the beer that were great but this was overshadowed.
it was a awesome session nonetheless and we sure are looking forward to the next lot we try.
