Looking at doing a keg set up, Is it cheaper and easyer to go with the brew craft setup or designing your own set up, and getting the bits from the likes of Craft brewer, etc?
Whats your thoughts?

Depends on how much you want to spend. I wouldn't recommend either options if you want to save money. I have 5 Kegs and have spent about $800 on my kegging setup including the CO2 and keggorator (Fridge, hoses, connectors and beer taps). I challenge you to spend less than that that!
Brewcraft set up = $520 (ish) excluding gas bottle.

Individually with the same gear in it about $530 sourcing the kegs locally and the other stuff from craftbrewer (exchange rate + freight). Although you can go cheaper without the beer gun or the tap with fridge shank & kit and a cheaper regulator.

Reviled was looking at this not long ago, he may have better prices.
Go the picnic tap route, theyre awesome and cheap as chips!
Have you found them locally yet? Dunedin Malthouse wants $45 for one with disconnect.

DMH has the keg set ups relatively cheaper...

Clicky
Mate that price is criminal, the tap itself is only like $5, then $20 for the disconnect... Havnt found them locally, but Ross is a top bloke so im happy to get stuff from CraftBrewer...

If you make a big order, chances are he may throw a little extra your way, like I got upgraded to a Temp Mate from a fridge mate for free when I ordered all my kegging gear ;o)
have you got your tempmate up and running yet? Just got mine today and a wondeirng where to take it to get wired up.
$430 for a keggin setup from Dunedin Malthouse at the moment. I reckon that's an awesome price!
Morebeer for kegs.
Hallertau sells them too, at a good price - if you want to recondition them yourself (you can buy all the bits from moreber). It might be a bit of a wait though.

Source your own gas bottle (you can go Wormald fire extinguisher or a "real" one from Ward's - just off Kings Cres in the Hutt). Be wary of importing, as different countries have different regulations.

Check regulator prices. I got a micromatic one from the states and it cost me about $25 to convert the nut over the the NZ size. Still worked out cheaper than anything I'd seen here (but exchange rate was pretty nice then).

Definitely recommend the picnic tap. They are cheap, work perfectly well and are easy to get a hose onto if you want to do some bottling. My beers are almost always served at cellar temp anyway, so no need for a tap on the fridge. If I'm impressing guests at a party I just pull out the beer engines.
Sounds good have been looking from craft brewer and I figure its going to cost about the same as brewcraft.

Stu go you pull your beer off your corny kegs with your Engine? or do you use a pin or firkin on stillage? and if with a corny do you have to vent on every pint pulled or do you use another method? Would be very keen doing this, it would be like having my old pub back in my back yard or kitchen for that matter!!
The cost of freight may not make morebeer any cheaper than Hallertau?
$713.80 for 4 kegs from morebeer, plus tax!! not cheap!!
Holy **** Batman.... Get it from Dunedin MH then buy your keggerator from the rest!
