Going to do an Imperial IPA and woundering if the hoping schedule is a little OTT. 29g Per litre? Epic armagedon is 9.5g but it is'nt a Imperial IPA heres the Hoping Schedule anyway. Have Added first wort hoppings as to help in Utilization and to smooth out the bitterness anyone tried it? And is it aqll what it craked up to be? Any thoughts

I thought stones ruination could have done with some more bitterness to be honest....but then again i do love the hop
I noticed that the theoretical IBUs tend to be a bit on the high side to what I get in reality.
Better to over hop a bit than under IMHO !! Especially an IPA.
Absolutely, if your gonna go imperial you may as well GO imperial!
Agreed. Plus with aging - IBU fades... probably explains why Kempicus would blaspheme against one of the finest beers in the world... Twisted Hop: eat your heart out... ;p
70 IBUs can easily be preceived as stronger than 100, or 100 as less bitter than 30. It all depends on a variety of other factors.
The Rogue XS is the only one I've tried of these. I was very very impressed. In fact I've been impresed with most Rogues that I've tried, they're always really well balanced and most importantly really well fermented.
It is pretty close to yours - 20 Plato is about 1083.
Well Just having the last bottle of this now and

WOW..............................................................

What was I thinking????????? This beer is Fucken huge!! I burping up The ripest candied tangarines you could imagine, Its got alittle leathery but Wapow bitterness grapefruit and tangarine and a little toast than a whole lot of alc!! This beer has some serious balls!! And on that note I will not be brewing it again in any hurry!! well maybe?
Brilliant! That NZIPA V2 of mine is 15gm per L and I burp hops from one glass for 4 days straight. 29gm must be awesome ;-)
Im really want to use 1kg of hops per 25L!! it would be like brewing Armageadon with 200kg!!
I just calculated that I've used about 10g per litre for an NZPA (APA with Riwaka) .... I think I'll be up close to 25g when I Imperialise it .... and I actually thought I'd gone too far ... apparantely not far enough.

Will you be bringing spares to the WellyBC so we can all enjoy?
The Pliny clone I brewed was about 18gms per litre all up...
