Richard, I ran your recipe through the BrewMate software I use and got 1.055OG for your grain bill, so I don't think you messed up or anything.

.

Sounds like an interesting brew. Let us know how the final taste test comes out.

This is what I put down today. Hopefully the bit of rain water that managed to get in the fermenter did not infect the batch.

For what its worth, last year I had a fly dive into my brew pot right as I was transferring to my fermenter, it turned out fine !

Looks good, are you gonna dry hop it?

I made this APA yesterday with 1968. I'm curious as to what an APA would taste like with a little more yeast character and perhaps a little more malt.

This was my 49th brew, and the first time I have ever forgotten the kettle finings, my wort going into the fermenter was cloudy as hell, pretty gutted. There is a heap of trub in the bottom of the fermenter already so hopefully that means its all coming out of solution and I might get a reasonably clear beer out of it.

Brewing an Imperial Black IPA today with new US Hops

The Chinook and Centenial this year, as they are fresh smell fucking wicked!!

Super casual raspberry wheat brew. I have a load of raspberries and boysenberries in the freezer so time to start using them!

50% wheat malt, 50% maris otter, aiming for 1.048 from the malts. 30IBU of pacific hallertau, then I figure a kilo-ish of rasberries at flameout, maybe with a touch more hallertau, fermenting with notty because that's what I have :) More raspberries after primary.

Try a bottle of Invercagil Brewery's Berrybeer before brewing.

You may prefer the berries in a pie.

that's boysenberries, right?

Yep.   I like beer and I like fruit but I can't mix them.

Good luck on the raspberries.

I've brewed pretty much that exact same beer but with less IBUs and US-05 and it was great.  I used 500g Raspberries at flameout and another 500g after primary.  Go for it!

Here's my recipe:

http://www.forum.realbeer.co.nz/group/therecipeexchange/forum/topic...

I also brewed a boysenberry version but with Pils rather than MO.  Both were great beers.

Yum.

Yeah I saw yours and decided that I didn't have anything better to do today :) hopefully it's as nice as yours must have been, with that score :)
