Dude... I've seen IPA recipes with less hops in it than this one.
Yeah, but they probably suck and/or English ;-)

Not sure if I brew this weekend or not (probably shouldn't) but I'm taking a North Welly brewday tour Saturday though.

calling into Matthew's Saturday to pick up the mill then off to Chris's to idle away an hour or so while the girls oggle at the shops.

If I brew it's a repeat of the Sauvin / Pacifica / Motueka pale - hop combo courtesy of Joe

85% malteurop 15% Dark Caramalt

1.034 and 34 IBU

And I'll be back to '05

You brew quite a lot JT... how much of this stuff do you have yourself?
Ah, that was only a might brew ... and I did say I shouldn't ..

... but I did anyway ... and now I feel guilty ...

But I'm on a mission, I loved this first time round, screwed it up the second time using dark crystal, screwed it up the third time using W1469, went off track the fourth time subbing in cascade for Pacifica, so I have high hopes that MK V will be spot on again.

I think it's going to be my standard issue House Pale Ale and I want to get it right for my brother's trip home in July (also going to have a crack at a psuedo steinlager clone for him, working name for that project is Stainlarger) as he's suffering badly on the beer front

This weekend's brew. Hopefully nothings out of place?

I am brewing an Irish Red. I am going to call her Maebhdh after an Irish girl of the same name that I met a few years back... Hopefully it will be as tasty as she was, but I do hope it is not quite as batshit crazy as she was!!!
lol that just made my day

Modifying Joking's advice a little. (MOstly due to laziness and the size of the hop packs delivered) I brewed the following:

11lb Marris Otter

60 MInute Boil

30 Mins -- 1 oz (20g) Magnum

15 Mins -- 1 oz (20g) Amarillo

0 Mins  --  1 oz (20g) Amarillo

Yeast -- 2 pack US-05

My OG came out at 1.050. I did not lose much in the boil, as I had the lid on for most of it. Miami water is warm, so I could only chill to 30C. As such, I brought the fermenter inside to chill down further before adding the yeast. (it is 20c all of the time in the house.)

This will likely be a bot more bitter than some people out here like, but I am sure I can drink it if they don't like it. :)

isn't an ounce 28.3g?
Now that I think about it. My mash was only at 65C. Hopefully this does not end up too watery.
