Sorry should have linked you to this as well. I believe Onehunga only supplies Onehunga. I'm in Mt Wellington and on 'Auckland Supply', which apparently is mainly Ardmore with 10% Waikato, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on demand. I'd say you're on the same.
Except for pH I just added 10% of Waikato onto Ardmore as what's in that pdf and came up with these values. I don't know how accurate it is to do this but it's what I'm using.
Ca - 9.3
Mg - 1.8
Na - 11.2
SO4 - 10.9
Cl - 16.4
HCO3 - 29.6
Total Alkalinity as CaCO3 - 24.2
Total Hardness as CaCO3 - 30.6
pH - 7.9
Holey Crap!!! I guess we underestimated that 1332 aye?!?!? I guess you had a massive pitch for it, which helps big time - I'm looking very much forward to it now - I love DRY ASS IPAs: 7.1% is spot on for monks too... but I think the dryness is going to detract from the sweet flavours you get with Monks. Not to worry though - what you will have is an IPA closer to West Coast USA style. It'll be mint as.
Was the Porter you finished when you were asking about what percentages to what malt to put in? Shit that's fast turnover bro! It doesn't seem like that long when you posted that!
I was happy with the carbonation bro, no worries.. Like I said it was a really nice beer! I got alot more passionfruit off youre one than Jo's which was interesting..
Hey bud, I think I have just seen your comment on my page regarding my 5 gal mash tun. Its just a mash tun no HLT cooler. I could sell it? Its missing the tap though.
Hi,
I dont look at the forum everyday but happened across your comment that you'd emailed us about a bottle of IPA.. I rely on the office guys to forward this sort of stuff on to me. They say they have no record on an email coming in. This is common for us. Many emails often dont get through - not my area of expertise and I dont understand it!
However if you could email me on _hris@emersons.co.nz replacing the underline with the letter c I'll see whats up. I'll need batch number otherwise its hard to see whats up mate. We had one batch that went a bit cloudy and seemed to referment in the bottle! Arrggghh. Even after filtering/fining. Joy.
Get back to me.
The yeast arrived yesterday - care of the post office re-pack service! :) It had been damaged in transit and had leaked a little. It's probably still good to grow with the yeast packed at the end of the vial, well protected by fluid. Thanks heaps for that. :)
I had the keg MLT but went back to the typical rectangular chilli bin.
I tired insulating it once, with a sleeping bag, sleeping bags and direct fired kettles don't go well together, just ended up melting half of it haha.
I'm still loosing a lot of heat, like more than 5 deg over the hour, it's really about the same with both systems. But to spend 250 on just a cooler, I'd rather buy one of those urns with the unexposed elements and insulate like you mentioned, then I'd have a directly heated, electric MLT
If you could find something else cylinder shaped that would fit over/around the pot you could sit it over top and expanda-foam between the two to insulate.
I'll probably only upgrade/sidegrade if I can find something at a really good price.
Hey bro - I loop it back onto itself. So the end of the braid is looped and connected to the start. Like... from the back end of the valve by an inch or so. This way the loop is about 100mm from the edge of the bucket all the way around... Clear as mud?
The only false bottoms I've seen are the ones that craftbrewer sell, I don't like the idea of the PVC hose connecting the bulkhead to the FB, and it will be cheaper to go with the braided hose that I know and love haha. Also, I don't wanna wait haha.

Leave it for 5 more days, than CC it for 24 - 48 hrs and keg that bitch.
Kegs changed my life too - I gained 10kg in a matter of months.
Where do you stay?
This is a good start.
It's also worth emailing both Metrowater and Watercare to see if you can squeeze a little more info out of them.

I really appreciate it. I'm growing Tyler's sample up on my stirplate, but it never hurts to have a Gen1.
