Yep Stu, date for this one is to have all bottles in by the 28th of March :o) So still a few weeks away yet..
Im in, of course :oP If I get another brew done between now and then itll be that, otherwise im considering either the Roggenbier or my Rye IPA which is almost finished..
Im in 7-8% Amber IPA, Providing it ferments out and gets into a bottle before the day. Or I might drink a couple bottles of Insperation tonight and change my mind?
I'm in - hoping to brew something in the next few days otherwise my landlord-esque clone brewed in december.
I'm out fellas. Had a burner malfunction so now have 40L of wort that I can't get over 75c - tried 4 burner bbq but no luck (carrying 40L of hot wort ain't recommended either). I'd call in a favour from someone but lack of sleep over the last couple of weeks means I'm not willing to stay up to 1am tonight to do a gas burner run and then fnish it off.

I'll contemplate picking up a new burner tomorrow and reboiling it, making it a "Berliner Bitter", but I'm certainly not wasting good yeast on it. Might try again next week...
Bummer! There's nothing worse than a wasted brew. Save it if you can, maybe reboil & pitch some dried yeast? Sorry to hear it, I hate bad brew days. The down side of being passionate about brewing I guess.

I feel ya!
I'm beginning a reboil now but I'm adding two cans of Munton's Light Extract and a big load of hops to turn it into an IPA. 1.065, 77ibu (Sauvin to bitter and loads of EKG at 15min), US05.

It won't be ready for the swap but I'm happy to send some out to anyone who wants some... will keep you posted on how it is tasting.
Good to hear that it hasn't gone to waste. Extract aye? Kempicus would be proud :)
Cheers. And thanks for your "I feel ya!" - I feel people's brewingtroubles too. I've thrown out a batch before.

Yeh, Kempicus will be proud. If it is any good I think I'll have a crack at entering it in the homebrew comp, in his honour. I won't use his Amarillo hops in this though, I will save them for the second crack at the ordinary. That will also give me an extra week or so to grow up the 1469 for a full batch.

Every cloud has a silver lining eh?
Thats a good attitude, Stu.

I cringed when I read that last night! I would have suggested cooling the wort down with an immersion chiller - but I don't know if you have one or not. Cooling it would have slowed the souring process... as I'm sure you are aware. I've done it in the past and I cant say I noticed that the wort was a day and a half old.

However - little consolation to you, when the feeling of hopelessness kicks in - and all the aspirations of a weeks worth of waiting to brew have been blown out like a frigid flame in the breeze.

Keep up the good work.
Anyone who wants a bottle, as consolation for missing out of the Amarillo Ordinary, pm me your address and I'll send some to you. I'm guessing it'll be about a month to being drinkable...
Alright, I'm back in. Mike said he is not sending until early April so I'm going to bottle some as soon as I keg (I'll bulk prime one keg and bottle from that on kegging day).
