Shared with brother.

His immediate response: "Gee, that's a bit too bitter". My rebuke: "Harden the fuck up".

Lovely clear golden beer with a soft white head which laces well down the glass.

Beer is a big bitter hit, softened by good juicy malt with a hint of grainyness, followed by [passion] fruity hops. Finishes clean and invites another sip. Mouth left tingling after.

Diacetyl wasn't picked up by my radar, but my radar has been proven by this case swap to be faulty. To my mind it was flawless and bloody yummy, precisely my kind of pale ale.

Nice work sir.

Another fan here Haish. Well 2 in fact as I shared this with Laura and she loved it too. Poured quite clear, little haze but that's being picky. As the lid got popped it hardly made a fizz so I poured hard, got a nice inch thick head which laced the glass all the way down. Great aroma, as it's name says it's passion fruit all over, little bit of tropical in there too. Really good malt profile and the bitterness absolutely spot on in my opinion. This is another beer exactly how I like my hops, not over the top full on bitterness but more subtle and because of that I get to taste the hop flavour not just a mouth full of bitterness.

I love how the hop profile has come out in this beer, with only 10 IBU up front you'd expect this to be fairly sweet but you've balanced it all out with the larger late addition. Nice work, I was impressed with your Bitter in Case swap 5 I think it was and again with this one. I bet it was great on keg whilst it lasted! I'd buy this for sure and it's straight up there with the best of this case swap so far. Cheers

awesome beer mate.. love it !!!

Bitterness is perfect for me and nicely balanced with the other flavours... could have done with 6 more...

Cheers for the swap \m/

I must remem, ber to type up the notes straight after drinking the beer. I had this last night, but I'm just typing up the notes now.

Pours a lovely gold colour with a smidgin of haze. Abundant white head. Quite high carbonation - in fact at one point my pour was a little enthusiastic and my Passion overflowed! Made my kitchen bench a bit sticky. Anyhow.

Beautiful passionfruit aroma, which continues into the flavour. I didn't pick up the sweat so much, but the flavour is lovely. Only issue is that occasionally I got a sharp astringency at the back of my palate. Not sure where that's coming from. Other than that, a lovely NZPA.

Had this last night, didnt really analyse it and just enjoyed it ;o) lol

Poured hazy with a massive tropical aroma, definately picked up on the passionfruit - no diacetyl for me. Firm bitterness but in a bittersweet kind of a way with the tropical fruit flavours. Hint of astringency in the finish which stopped this being downed in minutes - possibly from the Southern Cross? Im not sure - But never the less a great beer and a fantastic use of NZ hops!!

Oops, realised I drunk this one a week ago and missed writing up my thoughts which are slightly addled now.  I do recall really enjoying the hop flavour in this beer, to the point of making one of my next brews a New Zealand pale ale.   Great pineapple/ passionfruit  notes.  The bitterness was also quite assertive but that's just fine with me.  Well done.

Back in town after a fortnight out of the action and getting on with my end of the case swap deal - downing some fine beers and posting the notes.  What a way to feel welcomed home - this beer is the NZPA I want to be able to brew.  Plenty of juicy passion fruitiness with a hint of lime rind flavour to keep it from being over powering.  My glass had the most tenacious fluffy white head all the way down and a golden, slightly hazy hue.  Punchy bitterness that finishes clean and a grain flavoured base to compliment the fruit.  Nice one Haish, good to be back.
