Awesome! It got its own song, yeah!
This is definately on my list for a re-brew, I've only done one beer twice so far. I'll refer back here for some tweaks for next time. I did look at a few other recipes before making this beer but basically I just had the idea that I'd put lots of malt and lots of hops in and see what happens.

Luke should put this on the quotes page.
Pours an amber colour with a fluffy head, juicy NZ hop aroma, tropical fruits and grapfruit with hints of malt... Firm bitterness followed by a juicy hop flavour and a long lasting malt sweetness which maybe takes over a little bit from the full balance, but is not unwanted! The bitterness comes back right at the end and leaves a dry more-ish finish :o)

Cheers mate
Hmmmmm. Now if this beer was someone I'd met in a pub, it have wanted to take me outside to argue about the quality of my review, and I reckon I would have come off worst.

May have got shaken up a little in the car on the way round to Greig's place, but poured very hazy. Nice reddish-brown colour and a thick head which persisted all the way down the glass. Serious kudos there.

Aroma was all hops. Leapt out at me before I got near the glass. Didn't pick em as Kiwi hops though, no grassiness. More resiny than citrus.

Palate was a little confused to me. Lots of everything. Tons of malt, tons of hop flavour, tons of bitterness. However, the sweetness and the bitterness duelled it out to the finish, with the sweetness winning a little too much for me. Significant alcohol presence for me.

Maybe this was just a bit big for me. I struggled to finish it, not because it wasn't interesting or well put together, it was just a little too big in all respects.

Good work to overwhelm me Dale! And excellent work to make Kiwi hops taste so good.
Too huge for words (well, apart from these)

Massive hop nose that i picked as American until i saw your hops on here. lashing of citrus hops on the nose.
Huge chewy malt body then thats knocked out the picture by the bitterness of the finish. There are certainly epic aspects about it, but it reminds me more of the PA than the mayhem, but the PA when its gone to a gym for the last 6 months, then come out build like Dave Taylor of the Brisbane Broncos.

The malt maybe shades the hops for a spell, then the bitterness knocks the malt to the floor and next sip they repeat the battle. Could be a little more balanced, but when its this huge I don't really care.
Cheers - top drop
I got a lot of sweet caramel/toffee on the nose, wth peach (Us 05 coming through?), and a floral NZ hop aroma. less hop aroma than I was expecting, having read the above comments.

Love the big, tight, creamy head - like NZ-hop cream.

The Pacifica comes through to give the floral hops a grassy kick. Lemon, and orange, with a bready caramel finish. Maybe a touch more bitterness to balance the malt? Anyway, awesome beer. Initially I thought it was too sweet, but by the end of the bottle I wished I had more.

Cheers Dale.
Poured slightly cloudy because I fucked up the decant, looked nice and clear in the bottle.
Grapefruit/piney resinous hops on the nose, some pepper, with some sticky treacle malt, tight creamy yellow/greenish head that lasts all the way down the glass.
Big full malty mouthfeel cut instantly with a firm complex bitterness, some grapefruit marmalade action going on. This beers' hop complexity is the winner, it kicks between grapefruit, passionfruit, pine, fresh cut grass, all made cloyingly moreish by that dark crystal and munich breadyness.

What amazes me is that the 750gm of darkish crystal doesn't overwhelm the beer. It's up front and counted, but there's enough crisp hoppyness to cut it. You wouldn't want any more though.

An awesome beer Dale, well done mate.
Last case swap beer for me, and what a great case it's been.

Poured amber/copper, hazy with a large, persistent, white head. Strong aroma of hops, passionfruit, citrus, kiwifruit & bread. Carbonation is good. A lovely, very hoppy taste and warming the in mouth. Dextrinous, slightly chewy with a peppery bitterness. Hard to describe all these flavours.

What a great beer! Well done Dale, a great end to a great case. One of my favourites from the case.

Cheers.
I'll keep it brief - I had this last night and it was friggin awesome!
Pours a nice dark amber colour, HUGE head, slowly dies down while lacing my glassed inner thigh.

Nice citrus fruity aroma maybe a little biscuit or nuts with quite a full body. Definitely something to chew on there.Taste is quite resinous strong grapefruit lemon.

After taste is a little grassy, and a lingering full mouth feel.

I LIKE IT! Not a full on session beer, but would be a nice starter. Cheers Dale very nice, don't have much in the way of advise!
