Going to do an Imperial IPA and woundering if the hoping schedule is a little OTT. 29g Per litre? Epic armagedon is 9.5g but it is'nt a Imperial IPA heres the Hoping Schedule anyway. Have Added first wort hoppings as to help in Utilization and to smooth out the bitterness anyone tried it? And is it aqll what it craked up to be? Any thoughts

At a glance looks like quite similar quantities to used in the Brewing Classic Styles IIPA. Don't have the book on hand so can't compare.
I've never made one but Pliny the elder by russian river is apparently the standard to try and achieve, they're pretty open with their recipes so maybe compare to that....

18g per litre in that Black Imperial I gave you Mike. Plus an extra 7g per litre for dry hopping.

I say go for it. Give the kettle a couple of hours to settle before putting it in the fermenter.
Defintly going to do it just have to get myself a bigger mash tun for it!!
Going to use this as a recipe for it's all about the Hop 75ibus Aiming for OG 1.080 FG - 1.012. Attenuation is the key hence dextrose being used. 28g per litre may possibly possibly use some willamette to balane out the citrus but will see at dry hoping. all these hops are going to hurt the pocket but oh well.

75IBU maybe a bit light? Just my opinion. I would be thinking minimum 100: attenuation is definately the key - perceived bitterness. Might pay to use servomyces to help with the attenuation. Fish pump or pure O2 aswell.

I'm planning one of these next month for April: Celebration Ale my first kid will be born then. I have planned a very similar recipe: Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial and Colombus all imported and sitting in the freezer ready to go. I know about the pocket! Ouchies!
Yeah still deciding on Ibu's thats an easy fix just a few more hops in the first wort hop. Havnt tried the coloumbus whats it like? yeah just bought the hops just cost me $110 and people say homebrewing is there to brew cheap beer, Aint they wrong!! also I thought I wouldnt get it in my mash tun but I can just Squeeze it in!!!
I haven't used Columbus yet either... will let you know later on. I got my hops quite a while ago - the dollar was better then so I guess I was lucky. $4.80 per litre is still pretty good going compared to what you would pay at a brew pub.

I had Stone Ruination, Green Flash West Coast IPA, Pliney the Elder amongst others when I went to the States last year. $5US a pint at a bar - homebrew is still better value. Having said that - if I made a beer that tasted as good as those beers, I would be a very happy man!
Will have a 6 pack waiting in the fridge Christmas Eve :-) no kids or big Family gatherings to worry bout Christmas day

Hey Is the Servomyces the same as the Wyeast yeast nutrient? or is like Steroids that stuff. I have some wyeast nutrient and allways add it to my wort.
WyEast nutrient is different, but will do the job just fine. Servomyces can get things a bit out of control if you use too much - which is easy to do. But if you get a set of jewelers scales off trademe - you'll be sweet as (accurate to 0.1 grams). A lot of pro brewers can hook you up if you want to get some. It's expensive, but it is great stuff: especially if you plan on making any lagers.
