Is it possible to make a beer and throw in hops that have just been picked? Or do I have to dry them first? I found some wild ones growing and picked a sack full!

Cheers in advance.

But I think most people either dry them and use them, or use them as late hops ?
Yeeeeaaaah Boyeeee!
Yes. You have to use around 6 times more (by weight) than what you would dry hops.
Yeah so I have heard - thanks! :)
Yeah but the big questions are...Where did you find a wild plant growing? And how lucky are you? Well done!
Incredibly lucky! Thanks man. :)

I'm in Wellington and it's growing out of a stream in Brooklyn. I'm just making a golden ale right this minute and I'm about to throw them into the kettle. Wish me luck! ;)
Luck LOL you've used it all up finding those babies!
But golden ale sounds great, when you're done post your recipe I'm looking for something to use mine on too.
Have fun.
Absolutely! More than happy to post the recipe! :)

Bear in mind though, I'm yet to do full grain, been doing partial mash for two years now and still haven't plucked up the courage, will one day though. ;)
still haven't plucked up the courage

Do it, you won't regret it !
Thanks! Once I have all the proper equipment I'll definitely have a crack at it. :D
Proper equipment - what could that be ?
You probably have enough gear to do it now
Didn't Kieran Haslett-Moore brew with some hops he'd found in the same area ?
Be interesting to hear a comparison in taste notes
