Let me know too. I'd be keen to come with you since I missed the official SOBA trip to Leigh Sawmill and Tahi.
A return visit to Tahi bar is definitely on my list of SOBA events for the next few months.
Wow just got back from work and all these emails, this is fantastic guys & hamsters A-K-A, Ally Mcg.
This type of local info is indispensable, we don’t do boil in the bag pubs & sports bars, we enjoy good cask conditioned ale and local house / restaurant cooked food, & wine don’t mind noisy public houses as long as it’s drinkers enjoying themselves with great banter, this is why British pubs are closing at an astonishing rate, especially in the North west of England, the recession isn’t helping either, Had to laugh Ally Mcg “Rotovegas” what’s that all about? Just a bit more background history, this is our first visit to your country hence asking for advice,, feel free to contribute we are open to suggestions but the ferries are already booked we are spending fifteen days each island, Don’t want to bore you all with finer details of places pencilled in, even though we are as excited as hell, and your contribution is making it even more exciting.

Kind regards to all @ Real Beer

Down Christchurch way, you've got to visit The Twisted Hop brew-pub; cask conditioned, hand-pumped and brewed just behind the bar.
The Mussel Inn is a very special place to go for a beer - but if you're only spending two days in the Nelson region it may be a wee bit too far for you to travel.....
I have to agree. I went to the mussel in on the way back from Golden Bay to Richmond. I had a Monkey Puzzle before having a Snorkel in the Pu Pu Springs....

....Those were the days.....

Highly recommended though - if you can get out there.
if you're coming to arrowtown you can try the oak or in queenstown try dux de lux
