Mate used it in a smash or a IPA a while back was very strong pineapple flavour. Not my cuppa tea

Interesting I had never heard of it before today. Im not big on pineapple. I wonder if the renaissance guys have other hops in there because I didn't get that. I'm not a big fan of the cloying hop, my Yakima Monster clone that smells of apricot is going to be hard work

get yourself some garage project pernascious weed, rakau and nel sav I beleive, its a great hop.

It is im drinking it right now as I type this...Fathers day gift

What did you think?

Loved it will be brewing with these hops for sure.......I did read that they reversed the hop schedule for this brew so the high alphas were added towards the end.Whats the % on these hops?

I think the earlier version was better and its 100% better fresh on tap vs bottles....

Your right I trued it early on and was real good

Rakau and Nelson Sauvin are a great combo.

Do you have any Rakau/Nelson Sav recipes Tom?

Yep sure do.

Pale Ale 60IBU, 8 SRM, 5% ABV

3.7kg Gladfield Ale

800g NZ Pils (could miss this and do 4.5kg Glad Ale?)

250g Crystal 60

250g Gladfield Toffee

15g NZ Chinook @ 60min

20g NZ Chinook @ 20min

25g ea. Nelson Sauvin & Rakau @ 5min & Flameout

100g ea. Nelson Sauvin & Rakau Dry Hop for 5 days in secondary.

Yeast I used was Mangrove Jacks US Westcoast Ale but any American Ale will be fine and next time I'm going to give Wyeast 1450 - Denny's Favourite 50 a try.

After Bottling I found it best at about 6 weeks

Cheers Tom, looks tasty. That's on my list
