Hi mate.. Was looking at putting a woodent collar on the chest freezer and given its new was planning on making the collar removeable should the freezer crap itself under guarantee. Just had a proper look and the lid has a light which is fed a cable running up the back of the freezer. If I put a collar on I'll need to disconnect this cable as its not long enough to stretch to the new height of the lid. Have you done this yet ?
hee hee..I've got a picnic tap as well but had a quick look if your interested. Take side panel off - 4 wee screws. Follow white wire from lid and its connected into the power lead via a plastic connector block. they clip together like the leads on a pc..Unclip it, bit of tape over the bit left inside for safety although its all covered anyway and the white lead comes out the back. Allows you to raise the lid in future if you are interested.
Hey Mate, was that you??:) I was the one giving out samples at Browns Bay, you must have been the young guy who knew Brian? This reminds me, I still have that yeast we were talking about, the blend of trappist and strong belgian. Anyways, I'll be back in Auckland again for more tastings the end of this week and could bring it for you then?
I don't know how live it is, I started fermentation almost 6 months ago and it has been in the fridge for 1½ months by now. But you're welcome to have a try, I have no use for it.
I'm not sure I will have time to meet up for a drink, only comming to Auckland for a couple of days and they are filled with tastings and other engagements. The first tasting will be tomorrow, thursday, at New World Albany form 3 to 6 pm. If you are in Browns Bay, that's pretty close, aye? I'd be happy to pass the yeast on to a caring home and give you a few more tastings:)
I think my keg of Blonde Ale is leaking. I went to check it last night, and there isn't even a third of it left. I only kegged it 2 weeks ago - and I was in Auckland for one of those weeks! Problem is, I cant see anywhere in the keggorator where it may be leaking to... Any advise?
Thanks, the font came from MoreBeer back when the exchange rate was much better. I'm about to start converting a small chest freezer to a kegerator using that font. I'll have just enough space for three kegs, two on tap and one waiting in the wings.
yo, I have some landlord in glass 750ml brewed just before xmas. Haven't had a chance to brew since then and I am just about to go on my honeymoon back around the 28th. I could get a brew down then for the end of the month though?
hey, got any interesting yeasts floating round at the mo? looking to do my first brew of the year soonish...will be ordering some stuff from craft brewer but may take too long to get here for my itch. also, where are you getting your hops from at the mo?
hey, just ordered keg components from craftbrewer as per Barry's advice on your page (below): Were these all correct? also got 2 seal kits...need to get a coupla kegs from Hallertau if they have them. Also got Wyeast Ringwood ale and Northwest Ale to try if you are at all keen to do a yeast swap.

There's only one way to sort that problem - open a bar that would stock it! You could stock Epic too. It's funny that more Epic will be sold on UK taps this year than Auckland ones!
no not yet....strange. Had a few courier incidents of late. Our tickets to tonight's cricket were delivered at 8.36am, just not to us. The courier 'remembered where he'd delivered them' and eventually re-delivered them this arvo. Probably delivered them to his mates!
hey whats your usual process when you get a new smackpack of yeast for splitting out some gen1 samples? You just sanitise the pet bottles? and do you build a starter or just go straight from the pack?
