Yeah, I definitely would have guessed higher. It had more mouthfeel than I would have expected for a 1010 beer.
Must just be all the malt character upping the percieved mouthfeel? Allthough I allways find 1469 leaves a bigger than expected mouthfeel!
Warming up to the All Blacks test match with this.

Beer pours bright clear deep copper-tending-red. Thin off white head that disappates quickly.
Really pretty malty with quite a bit of yummy yeast character. To start with it was too cold, now that it's warming up it's really opening up.
The hop character has indeed been stolen, no "freshness" or piney/citrus character, but there is an underlying spicy hoppiness and bitterness that is pretty well balanced.

Interesting experiment - English yeast chewing on US hops. Personally I reckon their too expensive not to showcase outlandishy, but then again this is a really nice drinking beer, tons of malt complexity and that tasty yeast thing going on.
Yummy beer bro, I would expect no less.
Having this one this afternoon to watch with the Warriors. Brown as you'd expect with a fine white head. Carbed just how I like it. Interesting nose - some malt and a bit of stone fruit (plums?) from the yeast I'd expect.
I get more plus flavours with a slightly tart finish that keeps things fresh and makes me want to take another sip.

Interesting experiment and something I'd happily drink another pint of. Cheers rev
Just finishing off my second glass of this. Poured a nice brown colour, small head and I liked the carb level. For me chocolate on the nose. Nice malt flavour with a light bitterness. Very drinkable thanks bud.
Oh man, I should really have written these notes up straight away. Tried this last night and the memory is slightly hazy.

Appearance: Beautiful. Crystal clear, chestnut brown. Not much head, and what there is fades fast. Aroma is subtle but definitely malty.

Flavour: starts out malty but the hops soon kick in. Hoppier than I would expect for the style, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Carbonation level is a bit high, which I think is what thins out the body. Slight prickly feel from the carbonation.

Nice beer, maybe dial back the carbonation a bit and it would be great. Cheers man, well brewed as always.
lol awesome, cheers Martin, also shows how much the travel affects my beer, everyone else has gone on about minimal to no carbonation where as the one you got has high carb...

Seeing as it most likely went from my fridge, to yours within a small space of time im wondering if somehow the carb level has dropped being in a bottle and warm and being knocked around by the courier??

I noticed when I took a couple of bottles to Jo that they had little to no carb as well, but when I serve on tap at home the carb is fine... Hmmm, I think i need to look at my bottling process
