Yeah i allways tend to carb to the lower levels which means the co2 doesnt usually survive the bottling process - So pour hard to get a decent head :o)

Well ... I liked it.

Great colour (Had mine warm, 12C, so I didn't see any haze), smallish head, citrus aroma [didn't come over strong as I have a cold]. Excellent body and mouth-feel, this is the sort of thing I've been trying to achieve with my ales. I really wish I'd taken more notes, but I've been have all the beers in bed watching TV :o)

The wiff liked this one too, and she's very pick about her beers being German and all. She noticed the spicy finish Nathan got too. My palette is still dented from years of my 3 packs a day habit. Still I'd be happy to drink a crate till I spot it :o)

Cheers Simon, glad you liked it... Im trying to think where the spicy ness has come from and am wondering if maybe its the yeast?? I also didnt pick a strong citrus aroma, the 1469 swallowed up alot of that im afraid...

What was your mash profile for this one?

What do you mean by mash profile? I just mashed for 90 mins with no additions other than good ol tap water :o)

For some reason didn't make notes on this - I was brewing at the time, so a bit distracted maybe... Good deep brown colour, very little carbonation but still some nice lacing on the glass. Seemed quite biased towards the malt, not sure whether that 1469 really gave the hops much room to shine. Still quite a drinkable, approachable sort of a pint. Cheers Rev.

Second brown of the day! Quite a light brown, a little chill haze. Firm bitterness up front, can't say I picked up the cascade at all. No grapefruit in the flavour or aroma but saying that maybe the firm bitterness was the cascade flavour coming through? Quite malty, easy drinker. Never drank an American Brown before so not sure if I'm way off the mark but I was expecting more hops to come through on this one. Like Vdog said maybe the yeast has hidden the hops somewhat? Anyway, an easy drinking beer that went down well this afternoon. Cheers Rev.

First beer of the swap for me. Pours slightly paler than I was expecting. An aggressive pour gives a smallish white head which doesn't persist long. Nice 1469 ester profile and rich maltaroma, not much hop aroma as others have commented. Light carbonation allows the malt to shine through backed up by a nice, firm bitterness. I'm interested to know what the FG was on this one?

Very easy drinking, just what I needed after a hard days work. Cheers!

Cheers for the comments guys, Jacko, its not really supposed to be an American brown, more of an english brown with US hops, a US brown would definately have alot more hop flavour and aroma!! The 1469 is def responsible for stealing all of the cascade away I think!!

Haish, FG on this was 1010, but it seemed a bit thicker to me??
