It is going to be intersting to see what yeast strain you fellas think I have used in this beer. Your options are US-05, wlp001, WyEast1056.

The winner gets to keep their label from the bottle.

My 1st CS3 beer :o)

Pours a deep amber with brilliant clarity, aroma is there before I even pick up the glass! Smells like sweaty passionfruit with spicy citrus notes... Much different to the 1st Yakima, more malty! As the label suggests there is a sweetness half way through which is then taken over by the hoppy bitterness! Yum!!!

Cheers bro ;o)
Phew *wipes sweat from brow*

It's actually quite funny how nervous you can get when other people are drinking your beer! At least I got one good review... the relief is better than taking that dump that took forever to find a toilet after a phenominal night on the turps... you know what I am talking about!
1st case swap beer and it reminds me why case swaps are so awesome!
Looks fantastic, crystal clear, amber coloured with a decent head that sticks around.
Big passionfruit aroma, i'm not so good at identifying aromas and flavours but this one is obvious enough even for me!
Nice hop flavours in there, some malty sweetness and then a whack of bitterness which drys out and make you want more.
Mighty fine beer and a contender for best label for sure, I like the back of the with the description, barcode and govt warning!

This one disappeared too quick, might not be fair to have another case swap tonight, i'll have to go one of mine.
Thanks for the kind feedback. I'm really glad you liked it especially seeing as how you scored a kilo of Simcoe!

Cheers.
Not that I'm being impatient... but I wouldn't save this beer for last fellas! Those hops don't last forever!

And don't forget to guess what yeast strain it is.
Mine's in the fridge right now ready for later tonight. Patriot followed by Yakima.
Was my first beer.
Lovely 'balanced' beer, leaning toward the hops without being lean.
Excellent recipe. Excellent+ technique.
I'd match it with The Fall 'Container Drivers':

I don't know the WLP yeast at all, so I'll guess 1056.
Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of this beer, but any beer that goes with the Fall, has to be good.
Good man Tony, you get the point. If Mark E Smith brewed beer he'd brew this ( as a come down beer for after Pot Kettle Black ;-) ).
I love that you can liken a beer to music... the song you have chosen is a good match IMHO. Not too loud... not too soft. Lots of interesting humourous lyrics... solid rhythm throughout.

Cheers Stu!
That big signature Amarillo character up front followed by the woodiness of simcoe. A touch of cat piss and pine. Hoppiness dominates all the malt aroma-wise.

Classic American type maltiness - some toastiness with a supportive but not overwhelming caramel note. A good and strong hop in the flavour. A touch of sweetness and then a firm bitterness with a nice medium-dry finish. Lovely fruitiness and orange-citrus from the hop combo.

Tasty beer mate, mad props, and I've still got 650mL to go - choice.
Cheers for the props - which remonds me (speaking of "mad props") Kempicus really really loved this beer when I swapped him out for some of his mad Old Ale. I sent him enough to share with Stu - and he kept it all for himself!! So... Its made it's way over the country second time round - it's definately one of those "drink it fresh" beers though - the last one went downhill really fast after it had peaked.

Sounds like this one has peaked too.
