WEST AUCKLAND GETS CHOICE
Excellent news for Trust Area beer friends, Lincoln Wines on Lincoln Rd has just installed a massive beer fridge, and filled it with a massive beer selection. Beers such as EPIC, Croucher, most of the Harringtons range, No8,Green Fern, Townsend, Dux Deluxe, lots others I can't remember or spell.
The variety is awesome,check it.

Great to hear, will check out this weekend. Unfortunately, Westie-ville is a bit of a wasteland when it comes to choice. Like to meet the guy who decides what beers the Trust sells, and see if he actually knows anything beyond Export Gold or Lion Red!

I have talked to several retailers in Waitakere over the past several months and they all say that although they would love to sell a wider selection of beer, it really is what the trust decides will sell. There are a couple restaurants that do sell good beers such as Epic and Moa but they are rare.
Fantastic news about Lincoln Wines. I will definitely stop by this weekend as part of my shopping.

Barbara, I knew you would be pleased. The problem with the Trusts is that they don't get craft beer, and if they did they would be really expensive,because they love those margins. Still its bad business to force consumers into the city or out to Wine Circle. If you have a historic wine licence you can sell what you want!

I still don't get this trust thing. What's to stop me opening a bar and selling whatever the hell I please? I honestly can't believe anyone puts up with it. I'm trying to find something on them, other than http://www.thetrusts.co.nz/ which just implies you can choose to join them or not. Why does everyone choose to do so? They clearly aren't very good.

Its a hangover from prohibition, there is no choice, if your in a trust area you can not get an off licence with out trust approval. The trust money from bottle shops and bars does come back to the community, thats why it still exists.
