I was in Wanaka in February and had a Brewski at a little place on the lake. They had it on tap and it's one of the best beers I've had since I got here 15 months ago.

Another great beer spoiled by the well trained nose of a beer hound! I hate that, you are perfectly happy with a beer then someone spots something and its all you can smell or taste afterwards. A bit like a hot woman with a mole.

Bitterness is like a curve if you look at it like graph and you'll just get about 10-15% more utilisation for the extra 30mins of boil. If you can't be bothered to boil for the extra 30 mins you could just increase your 60 min addition by 10-15% to…
Failing that, I'd hunt in some opshops or at the Sally's. There are always some hanging about that people got and want to get rid of. Cheap present = unique present = happy mate.

One thing a few of us were talking about at the conference was the all around quality of pretty much everybeer there. Sure, some where good, some not so good but overall I think everyone should be commended.

Oh yeah, and if you'll excuse the pun. The toilets crapped out; so there was some fancy tip toe dancing going on in waiting line.
1st place was taken by Paul, 2nd...I can't remember (and I was sober) 3rd went to His Royal Joking-ness. Last place was kept under wraps as he wasn't there to defend his honour but must have had a feeling it wasn't going to fare well because a style…
