Does anyone know a good acid to use to reduce ph? (don't want to use calcium sulphate)

I've been using citric acid but I'm not convinced this is the best acid to use. Are there others which are available from the supermarket?

Cheers

lactic acid is what is recommended by the text books. where to find it I don't know though, LHS or pharmacy maybe, maybe even supermarket... if you ever pass through blenheim I'll give you a cup:) phosphoric is the second choice I believe, citric is not recommended because of the flavour impact, I don't know how tartaric would taste, probably no biggie as you wouldn't need much..
If I'm passing through Blenheim I'm gunning for a little more than lactic acid! I'd be greasing for a tour and talk!
you'd be getting it too!
