I'm looking to acquire 1 or 2 corny kegs and associated fittings + gas regulator. I'm getting back into brewing and loathed to go down the bottling route again so if anyone could help me get setup with kegging equipment I'd be very grateful.

On a side note, has anyone tried using soda stream bottles on their kegging setup? Are fittings available? How does the cost work out compared to hiring a CO2 bottle?

Cheers - Scott

Hi Scott, if you search the forum you will find a couple of threads, here is one of them..

We have had good discussions on sourcing the gear a couple of times.... makes good reading!

Cheers.
Thanks James, hadn't seen that tread yet. Will have a good read.
The soda stream fittings are available, look at the kegging gear section at craftbrewer.com.au Don't know about cost comparisons, just getting into kegging myself.
Yep the fittings are great, I have one and use it to be portable.
Has anyone managed to get in touch with Steve P recently? I'm keen to get hold of some kegs off him but not hearing much back. I'm guessing he's a busy guy.
yeh, he is... I suggest you give him a phone call.
I got email from him this morning, just got 2 more off him.
I got told the soda stream bottles are good for using to dispense beer but no good for gasing the beer, too small, the fitting last time I looked was $25 on aussy e-bay.
There is enough in a bottle to gas about 2.5 kegs - I'm still persevering.
