hi,

new to home brewing so i'm sure i'll be back to ask lots more questions, but at the moment i'm just after a small co2 cylinder.

i've looked around on the internet and basic places but can't find what i'm after. i have a rotokeg which has a valve in the top to accept a standard co2 bottle. all i'm after is a small bottle that i can attach to the top and release some co2 on my command (don't need a large bottle with the ability to keep the pressure up). my dad has one at home but it's in england so no help there!

i've seen lots of posts about reusing fire extinguishers but that seems over the top for my basic need.

the rotokeg has the release tap at the top so is fed by pressure and my first batch has lost all its pressure now so really need something soon. (probably a brewing issue too but taste is good enough for me!)

any help much appreciated!

thanks, billy

Hey Billy, if you don't want to fork out the $200 for a old extinguisher, you could get yourself an old soda stream (with appropriate small CO2 cylinder which is not that economical, but will work) and attach a piece of pressure hose from that to your rotokeg... just watch for pressure build up as rotokegs can go bang...

google party keg + soda stream machine for more info.
sounds like a great idea! am sure i will end up with a more permanent solution but at the moment this could well do. cheers
Dunedin malt house has rotokegs in stock, not sure if they have the CO2 cartridges for them but wouldn't hurt to give Trevor a call and see what he can source.
I,m pretty sure Brewers Coop in Auckland do Rotokeg Co2 canisters. You could contact them and see if he could ship some your way: http://www.brewerscoop.co.nz/
