I just purchased a 3 ring burner off trademe. I was just wondering if somone could please tell me if the gold washers that go on the inlets have to be flush to the cast iron? I have no idea about these things and im a bit dodged out to try it haha. Heres a pic of what it looks like now

You can adjust those to let in more air if the flame is too yellow. They are a bit shit at best though to be honest. I have mine fully out, so opposite of what you have in your pic. Even so when I screw them back in they don't seem to do much! Good luck with it. Have a play with them until you get a nice blue flame.
Oh I get ya. I didnt realise they were for that purpose. I just thought they were meant to be screwed right up so they didnt leak gas or something haha. Thanks man. Keen to fire her up!

These things are a bit shit, and I do not like mine at all. However, under Chris's advice, I also ground out the ports for each burner to get rid of all of the burrs from the cast. This also enabled more airflow, so that it burned more blue.

I cannot wait until I convert to electricity!

Interesting - I'll give that try on my burner and see if it improves airflow for my setup.
