I'm brewing the CYBI Epic with this malt on the weekend... even gots me that 1272! Double batch.... YEAH!!! I love Epic.

Halcyon huh? Whats the word on this malt? Compared with GP and MO?

Drooling over the thought of floor malted GP!!!

It's supposed to be very good stuff. Not as good a potential extract as MO or GP, but flavour is probably superior. I tasted it in the "Halcyon" IPA from Thornbridge at Beervana and was more than impressed. Great hop translation yet maintaining a dry malt mouthfeel with plenty of residual malt flavour. You can't put all that down to the base malt... but it obviously helped. I expect great things from it.

What's the GP kilned to? Could be interesting to have a play with.

I don't have the spec sheet for it just yet, but this lot of Halcyon is kilned to 5.9EBC.
