I take back below... If you click on "replied" in the activity thread - it takes you to the current conversation. This puts my computer illiteracy at ease.

The title says it all. It popped up in another thread - but I'm getting real bothered off with the new layout. Hopefully someone can do something about it. Here is a list of my problems:

1: The webpage crashes on my laptop (XP Pro) and at home (Vista Pro) twice a week.
2: The link on the activity page brings you to the start of the thread instead of the latest comment.
3: The RSS feed does the same thing.
4: The RSS can take 24 hrs to update.
5: I spend too much time on this website (technically not Nings fault).

Can anyone else back this up?

I can back up #2 and #5...i don't even know what RSS is....
Preach on, Brother!..

While I'm not having any issues with it crashing (Vista Business but accessing with Firefox 3 browser), the new "features" are rubbish. I don't want to see the first few lines of the post on the main page, just that there's a new post to a thread; I want the link to the post to take me to that post, not the start of the thread, etc (basically what everyone else is bitchin' about).

I'm not using the RSS... because it takes 24 hours to update.
I agree with 2 through 5. Never had it crash my browser though. The RSS is the most broken thing as far as I'm concerned, since it's pretty much how I interact with everything. Why refresh a website when things can come to you? I find manually refreshing the RSS feed seems to do the right thing. But yes, Ning is a bit balls at times. Still, what alternatives are there? Bags not being Luke and having to answer that one! ;)

Oh and Kempicus... RSS is like C++! ;)

One day we may be forced to explain this lame joke.
Hmmm i feel a metaphor coming on....

If anyone has seen the movie Zoolander and the scene where Derek and Hansell try to get the files out of the computer at ballsteins office....picture that....i've barely evolved from that when it comes to IT...
2, 4, 5 for me.

No crashes so far under both linux and vista.

The idea of ning is good, the whole profile thing, 'friends', social networking buzz is all good. But the forum software is shit
1,2 XP home - For me both seemingly random and both exceedingly frustrating!!!!!
