Don't know whether anyone made it down to Marchfest in Nelson, but it was a real treat. Warm, blue sky, great music, good food and most importantly it was virtually impossible to get a crappy beer! No generic slop, only craft brewers and a number of special brews for the event. A beer sensation to be sure, thought I'd died and arrived in heaven, even if we did have to pay for the beer! A certain fortitude required to try them all and re-visit the odd one, but we seemed to hit the pace pretty well. And here's the thing with real ale - I feel just fine today. It just goes to show that if you avoid the common headache in a bottle muck you need have no fear to sample the wears pretty vigorously.
Cheers,
Ian

Donfardz64, Demise and I (all beer enthusiasts) were in Nelson for a weekend the week before Marchfest. Talk about disappointment.
I grew up in Nelson and it would have been amazing to attend such a great-sounding festival in that city.
Definitely jealous.
Well, there's next year and then the year after..etc. It has been such a success and so well organised that this event will endure, no doubt about it.
