Immersion Chiller and Kitchen/Bath Faucet and Taps
Hi there
I live in an apartment and I'm looking to start doing full volume boils using a 32 litre pot with an 2200 watt element. Cooling a pot this size in an ice bath is hardly ideal or practical when dealing with 23 litres of wort so I am thinking of making myself an immersion chiller.The problem for me is that living in an apartment I have a tap in the kitchen that has one of those spray faucets, and in the bath I have old style individual hot and cold taps and I have no idea how I am going to find an adapter to successfully connect the chiller to the cold tap. Taking apart taps is not an option for me.
Any ideas would be appreciated. The Kitchen Faucet is like this:

You could maybe try one of these on your bath tap. You can get them from most hardware stores for about $5. I'm not sure how well it would grip the tap but you could use a cable tie or a big hose clamp or something to tighten it up.

You could unscrew that filter cap which is on the end of your kitchen tap then take it with you to the hardware store and see if there is something with a similar thread
