Gas burner on concrete floor
So I have a 3 ring gas burner (the green type, fairly standard i think) - I have been using it straight on the garage concrete floor with my 50l pot straight on the burner, no stand. no bricks etc.
I think I've done too much reading and have heard about concrete exploding if it gets too hot.
Is this a real concern or is there not enough heat coming off the bottom to worry about??
Is building some sort of stand a wise idea, and if so, any design ideas??

I just use gas burner on a concrete floor, never had any problems. You could try something like this

Yes concrete will explode so a couple of options. I use castable ceramic for an invention of mine and but 25Kg sacks for around $65@.
But what I would do is use aluminium as Brett eludes to. Aluminium is highly reflective and as such is a great insulator. The trick is to have two sheets 25mm apart. If you have a bit of foil on the concrete and then a second sheet on supports of some sort to keep it 25mm above then the concrete will stay pretty cool.
