A Homebrewers Christmas

It starts out small, a wish for beer,

A kit and kilo, a drink is near!

In the mix the kit and sugar go,

The outcome a fate we all know.



The beer tastes soapy and a little shit,

The boys cry out says it's not a hit.

So what's next on this epic undertaking,

Where have the hops gone?

I'm sitting here tonight after having had probably one more than I should have, not unusual for us ale named, lager brewed swilling Kiwis. It's Saturday night we are all drinking like the 6 o'clock swill is still here, but the difference is that tonight I have consumed beers from the home brewing and craft brewing brethren.

A Brewer's Prayer

Now I lay my grain in the tun,

I pray the day will turn out fun:

When at the end of this brew day,

Give me a ferment with no delay.



Now I add my water to the grain,

I ask the day is not in vain;

Guard the temperature at sixty-five,

Convert the sugars for yeast to thrive.



Now my grain is mashed to wort,
