Had my three dots a few nights ago, and the laptop died mid post, losing all my clever descriptors and witticisms. Memories: Intense orange marmalade. Packed a wallop, but not too much heat, just a little to let you know what was happening. Simply huge taste and aroma. No head. Awesome rose colour, how'd that happen? Barry nailed it with petrol in a jerry can. The aroma was like stepping in front of a truck. Surprisingly candy-sweet finish? Amazing beer mate, thanks for providing it. I didn't notice any bottling defects, if they were there they were well and truly drowned out by... Everything. So much of everything.

Cheers.

Probablly oxidation Im guessing, glad you liked it.

No dots - 'Some beer' is the tag - too right, some....bloody... decent ....beer this one!!

Burnt brown with a big pillowy light tan head as I pour this one into the glass.

A sharpish caramel nose with and chocolatey alcohol volatiles come off what seems a strong beer to me.

On first taste I get a boot more of the caramel chocolate and a solid bitterness that doesn't have a lot of hop aroma to linger, but the slightly acrid crisp malt flavour gives plenty to chew over and a dry long finish as I swallow the first mouthful... and the next.  This reminds me of the tobacco and licorice rizla rollies that I used to smoke a while back.  The local pub, three doors down from a crappy damp share flat, was the Colpitts ... the beer was Samuel Smiths OB where a regular lock in was a the  way to spend the winter evenings...but  I digress.

Back from refilling the glass and I'm liking this hulking brute of a beer - strong and gutsy with a bitter, roasted heftiness that does plenty to fend off the cold coming in from the shitty winter night outside tonight.

Thanks Mike - its a ripper.
