I cant brew at the moment because in a moment of carelessness threw my overflow pipe in the bin. After sparging I carry the inner basket to beside the bin. I normally remove the overflow pipe before pouring the used grains away but forgot. Weeks later I couldnt find it anywhere and realised I had been a dingbat. Called MJ and they will have some parts coming in late Jan, so no brewing for me til then. I considered trying to make one myself as the stainless pipe wouldnt be an issue but the spring clip would be very tricky to get working.

I have had so many days that put me off and I didn't go back for a couple of months. It takes a while to get over things like this.

maybe you need an emergency wort chillor...  just in case of a blockage drop in chill and syhpon out   the iphone 1 and 2 where pretty crap as well....     perhaps you have a case for redress as under the CGA product must be fit for purpose....   ask iMake for a few AG kits....   marginal cost for them = happy beta testers

The BM is solid but their pumps clog as well....    at a deep discount they are a bargin...  a 50L just sold on trademe for 3k

I agree Dene, we were Beta testers and I'm happy with that. I sold my 3 tier system because it was becoming too much of a hassle cleaning it. I have done 11 brews on mine now and I'm very happy with it. If I knew then what I know now however I would have bought one without the counter-flow chiller. My immersion chiller is just as efficient and takes less than a minute to hose down. I now have two CF chillers sitting on the shelf.

Yeah I haven't even used my replacement counterflow. I can chill with my immersion in less that 15 minutes and a quick soak in PBW is all it needs afterwards.

They were talking about an option without a chiller but didn't go through with it unfortunately.

I bought mine at Beervana as one of the first 100, a friend of mine bought his at the same time without the CF chiller for $750. So they were giving this option at that time. If anyone wants one sans CF it would be worth contacting iMake to see if they will still do this deal (no doubt through your LHBS).

I contacted them when I got mine and they said they don't do it without a cf.

Yes I would buy without the counterflow chiller also.
