What Is The Traditional "Initiation" Thing To Do When You Have Made Your First Brew?

Worry like hell that have stuffed it up.....Check it every hour for signs of life, Fight the urge to open up the fermenter for a look, Bottle it then send some to me

Don't consume too many brews during brewing, take notes on everything you do to during a brew (seriously) and don't rely on the air lock - it doesn't move straight away or at all in the case of a ginger beer I did (although gravity readings indicate yeast doing their thing!).  Above all, have fun and enjoy it.

Yeah I plan on doing a full documentation of my brew day notes and photos, going to write myself a full step by step detailed instruction list. Hope that helps.

Sounds about right! That would be a hell of a lot easier than say "you must drink your trub" haha. Yeah have mates over on drink day would be a good idea, cheers mate.

Here is what I sent to my mates ..accompanied by some graphics. (BTW- my first brew is awesome and I am excited to be sharing it with mates)

In the time honoured tradition of homebrew  beer making...there comes the moment  of truth when the brewer must reveal his doings to his mates!

 

That  time has come lads and I invite you to a tasting session at the Shooter Brewery (otherwise known as the Howards family home according to my wife).

 

The Zhuter American Pale Ale has conditioned well in the bottle and the fridge... and now awaits your refined palates for appraisal.

 

5.30 Thursday 27th .  Beer snacks will be provided. An early  sample of The Zhuter Premium Draught Citra hopped brew will also be tasted.
