Hey I've a bunch of old mytton rod type kegs, they look like the 19l corny ones from the states but they have a different kind of post.
Does anyone have any experience with these kegs, specifically replacing the posts with taps or disconnects? I got them from wigram and kenny beverages. they came with posts by they're pretty old and crappy. I'd like to replace them with something affordable and easy.

I'm thinking of going with a 1/2"-1/4" adapter and then a miniball valve and then a 1/4" Johnguess straight fitting. However I'm finding it difficult to price the JG stuff and to find an adapter that isn't brass (ideally stainless or chromed) any ideas?

Pics of what the connectors/fittings currently look like might help. :)

Hi yeah I've got three of these myself. Above is a pic of what I have, and what I believe is a post from a mytton keg (at least that's what mine came with). The little rubber seals on the poppets have blown and after removing the circlip (which was pretty much destroyed in the process) that holds in the poppet, I found myself with poppets I'm having a hard time trying to replace. the seals I can find (http://www.ozbrew.com/default.asp?menuI=1&catI=2&catS=18&am...), but the circlips I may have to try and wing with something.

I was also thinking of trying out a wee section of 1/2 inch threaded stainless tube to screw into the keg holes, and then screw cornelius posts onto that.. Unsure though as the poppets may not sit in the corny posts without something for them to sit on. I've no experience with cornelius kegs so I'm unsure how the poppet fits inside the post.

Ahh.. I meant 3/4 inch threaded stainless, I guess it would need to reduce as well to fit a corny post...
