Has anyone here been on this course, or know someone who has? Am interested in knowing how good it is and whether it would be suitable for someone like myself who has experience with extract beers and is wanting to get into all grain.

Hi Lewis - I went along to this course the first time it ran in 2009 - I am guessing it would have evolved since and I would be more inclined to listen to someone whom has been since 2009.

When I went I was in the same situation extract brewing wanting to go all grain and also looking to get a job within the brewing industry - the course it seemed to me was more aimed at people getting a broad overview of the brewing process as relates to micro or bigger commercial brewing.

They pack a hell of a lot in to the 4-5 days I came away at the end of each day with my head swimming with ideas!

The tutors were brilliant and happy to sit down outside of class and go over things with you.

It was a good course and I dont regret going but to be honest if you just want to learn about grain brewing you would acheive the same effect and save a lot of money by going along to a few brewdays with different local homebrewers and observing.

If you are looking to get employment within the industry its a good starting point but reading a few good books and getting some unpaid work experience at your local brewery would again acheive the same effect.

Cheers
