Hi there I have just finished my first two all grain beers I have 2 x corney keys and 3.5 kg co2 tank all hooked up I'm now wondering what pressures do I need to force carbonate the beer, I've seen Internet videos saying about 30psi disconnect then roll the kegs around for 2 min to carbonate them leave for 14 days the reconnect gas and leave for 2-4 days on roughly 10psi , after 30 day can start to drink . How does this sound any help apprichated ,

Sounds like far too much waiting time before you get to drink your beer!!!

The "Ross Method" seems pretty popular on the AHB forum in OZ http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8535

No waiting around for things to carb up over time! But obviously waiting a couple of weeks does no harm as far as flavours maturing etc.

I just connect my kegs at about 12 psi and leave them sitting connected for a week or so. I figure it usually needs this long to age so I am in no hurry to carb it up. If you want it quickly then use the "Ross" method posted by Nathan.

By the as far as I know priming a keg would usually refer to adding sugar and using a fermentation to carbonate the beer in the keg (like bottle priming does).

Thanks For your reply , I labeled the heading incorrectly , I meant force carbonation , I'm not wanting to prime eg add sugars etc , so once I've transferred from fermentor to keg what's the process involved in force carbonation ?

See the link above....you can drink it nearly straight away but it carbs up better over time.

Ummm.... like I just wrote above. I just connect my kegs at about 12 psi and leave them sitting connected for a week or so.

Same as Ralph I generally do a quick 5 min roll on 25psi then set then at 12psi and leave them. I've fuond 7 days is when the flavour really settles down in the keg.
