Rockgas Dunedin have a range of nice looking burners so would be worth trying your local branch. Can't remember exactly what they had but it was better than just cast iron ring burners. Was a bit gutted when I saw them there after buying a four ring for about the same price.

They also do high pressure regulators for a good price. Around $45.

Hi.

You can order Bayou Classic burners from Amazon. They're pretty cheap, powerful and come with a stand and regulator.

I got this one for about $140 including shipping and it has been really good so far - http://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-SP10-High-Pressure-Outdoor/dp/B.... It arrived in less than two weeks too which was a bonus.

I can vouch for the SP10's, they pack a lot of heat for a great price. 

I bought one a couple of weeks back at the current Amazon price and it cost $122 NZD including delivery.  Ordered Wednesday night and arrived Monday afternoon. Absolutely no complaints!

With the sp 10 could I take the reg off and plumb it directly to a welded manifold. then  use the reg to feed the manifold? I want to run 2 burners off the manifold like a brutus rig. do you think this would work? and are the connections sweet for our lpg bottles?

Sorry about the delay in replying, but to answer your questions:

Yep, the regulator that comes with the SP10 is a nice high power (10 psi) unit with a brass needle valve control. It is fully compatible with NZ Gas bottles.

Also, I know that a LOT of guys from the states use these for home brew (check the reviews for it on amazon.com).  The literature that comes with the burner state that it'll easily boil 100 litres.  The burner itself is fastened to the stand using a single bolt and could easily be removed and integrated into a different rig.

Someone below mentioned the burners available at RV dreams in Lower Hutt... I contacted those guys when I was hunting for a burner and they told me the cost of the framed 4 burner on LPG is $180.00 and the non framed is $155.00. Then you'd still need to buy a reg. 

For the dollars I was definitely happier going with the PS10.  On first usage it took 33 litres of 20 degree water up to mash temp in about 15 minutes.

Stand has adjustable feet.

$230 for stand regulator and gas ring.

They had a twin ring burner like this one but this has electronic ignition.
