Have you guys noticed theres a home brewers forum on this site?
Haha I don't check the general section much as I'm mostly interested in home brewing... click over here to see that many people are posting about home brewing here in the 'general' section. It always used to be that this section was for general beer discussion (i.e. what good beers you've tried lately or what pubs are decent etc) and the home brew forum the place to discuss home brew... seemed like a simple enough distinction... perhaps we should try to meander over that way a little again? I just think that some people might be missing out on home brew info if they don't find it in the general section.

The other reason a lot of discussions are probably ending up in General is that if you start a new post it defaults to "General". If the default was a non-selection and there was a prompt to tell you you had to select where you wanted to post if you had not filled it in, then you may find more posts being filed in the relevant sections?
