At this stage I'm only after one to covert into a brewing kettle, I'm based in Rangitikei/Wanganui region.

Where can I source one and what sort of price is reasonable for a good secondhand 50L keg (empty)?

Cheers,

Vincent

If you can get to the Tui Brewery they sell em broke but still ok for kettles etc for $50.

Cheers Jason, I'll make some inquiries.

Also if you're in the capital, Ingot Metals in Seaview, Petone, have used and dinged 50L kegs. It pays to haggle but try around $40 to $50

Macaulay metals in palmie had a couple of 50L kegs lying around. I think they wanted around $40 for them. A lot of scrap metal dealers have them though so it's worth giving them a go. www.macaulaymetals.co.nz

Hi Guys, any one out there know where to source kegs in auckland, now that lion doesnt sell theirs anymore?

Mr Loader - You didn't attend the Massey brewing course last November did you?

I would of picked you some up if I had known, had a mate heading to Auckland the other day.

Yeah thats me. Hows it going ? you still at Malt eur?

Yeah mate, I'm still there.  Things are good, finally building a decent rig.

You stepping up from BIAB?

Looking to get a decent rig going as well, still doing a bit of BIAB

Hi For any Auckland people looking for kegs,

http://www.kegresources.co.nz/online-store/categoty-layout/kegs-cou...

go see them in person to pick up the kegs

you may have to remove the rubber base on these but I picked up three which had no rubber base. it will mean that ill build a small cage for the kegs on the sculpture but it should be all good. Ill post photos as I go.

P.S Vincent, yeah moving up in the world :)
