Dodgy landscapers

We have been having some trouble with a small landscaping job in the back garden for the past 4-5 weeks.  Paid a deposit for materials against my better judgement, not a huge amount but enough to make it hurt.

After a whole heap of amazing stories we just kicked him to touch today and got the lawyers involved, spoke to the IRD about him, stealing from me I bet he is not paying taxon it either...  Along with the police and a good old google, twitter, facebook.

I come home to find him on my driveway demanding his tools and has authorisation from the police...  I explained that he should ask them to come and sort it out and please park outside of my property in the mean time.

Turns out he is not Justin Silcock as we had expected from Premier Paving, its a alias using another companies name!  Premier Paving is a really nice guy from Papakura who has been fielding bad phone calls since December about this bloke and knows him as a number of names...

It also transpires that this scumbag Justin, who's real name is Guy Silcock has just been on Fair Go, for the second time.  Up in court with 20 plus counts of fraud and is happily robbing people of their savings every day of the week, even the day he gets out of court.

Not sure what legal action I can apply about some scumbag trading under a false name.  He comes across as a numpty but is very keen at skating on the edge of legalities and keeps the sums down to the point that people dismiss it.  The Fair Go clip is amazingly similar to our experience, almost identical.

Beer related note, I missed out on an IPA tasting at Toms house tonight and I am pretty sure I wont be able to claim that back in a court of law and only a slim chance Tom or Damian will save them until the weekend haha.

An interesting night and some great response by the police.  Shame I am the criminal for holding his tools, but as I say, he knows the rules and is skating the edge.
