Hi members .

A few years back i used to buy the bear in the thread title but then it just seemed to disappear from all the shops .

Does anyone know what happened to it ?.

I searched on Google and just found a few vague hits but nothing really informative.

Was a pretty good lager IMO .

Bean Rock was brewed under contract at Independent Breweries for an old guy.. can't remember his name now but he created beer brands for the big boys in the 80"s. It was fermented slow and took twice as long to brew as any other Independent beer, they actually can make excellent beers, (be great if they realised that.) The man behind it got sick and died. Bean Rock was $9 a six pack for a while as they sold up stock and now it has gone for ever.
Thanks Hugh .
Good to know . ill stop looking asking at bottle shops for now then .
Your comment is greatly appreciated
yeah its a shame, great hops, well balanced and and session-able  @4.5%. The man who created was called Richard Holden, he was a top man who did good work in the beer industry. He gave me some good advice when I was a young(er) craft beer distributor. Bean Rock was probably a bit ahead of its time but would be rocking now if it was on the scene.
