Was actually easy to make by hand. Started with the outer coil around a tin. Then realised that a second inner coil would be easy to add and be more effective than a tightly packed single coil. Only down side is it doesn't look as nice.

Still need to get some copper wire to strengthen it up.

Hi Brett. How is the garden hose when its inside the wort boiling as you sterilise it? Hass the garden hose deterioated?

Mine's very similar (not quite as much copper in it, but same type of hose) and the garden hose is in fine shape after 30 or 40 uses.

Hose has been fine here. It does get quite soft after 15mins in the pot but no signs of any damage. The hose is a cheap "buy right" from Mitre10 so it gets just as soft in the sun.
