Not really - the fermentation was too active for an airlock - or my favourite (apiece of tinfoil over the top) so I put the blowoff on - this is how much yeast came through in 48 hours. It is totally re-usable like this, but you have to make sure the container, water, bung and hose is sterile. Infact - the stuff in the photo is the most viable yeast you can get.
