Alsco isn't going to be happy with you mate.... that towel looks haddit. Looks like you lost a bit of beer with that yeast too... bummer. What brew is that?

Looks like you had a little explosion there rather than just foaming out the airlock. I narrowly averted a similar situation with a Tripel that I brewed a few months back. I caught it just in time with dried krausen blocking the airlock and the lid of the fermenter was bulging.

Is the beer still good?

It was a 1.10 Imperial Stout with a bit of Belgian Candi syrup pitched onto a nice healthy US-05 yeast cake. The pic was taken after I'd cleaned up a bit and replaced the airlock that was hiding over the other side of the room. I do all my brewing at work, and ferment in the lab store cupboard, i was scrubbing from ceiling to floor, I only lost about 3-4 litres but it made a hell of a mess. It still tastes alright though, I'll bottle on monday and find out in a few weeks.
I just went into work to check on my brew, and my boss followed me in to have a look., thankfully he just laughed it off.
Think I'll try and stay a bit soberer when doing future brews, and not over fill my fermenter.
Alsco shoud be able to get that one clean

"I do all my brewing at work"

Man... I wish I got paid to brew! I suppose it is what you might call good "Quality Assurance" at your work Chris?

Man.... I wish I got paid to brew too. Unfortunately that's not the case, I use the laboratory equipment after my working hours to make my own beer. We've got a couple of temperature controlled mash baths, that are generally used for making wort for different analysis, but they seem to be pretty good for brewing with, as well as a decent supply of distilled and deionised water.

Wow - blank slate water. What sort of water profiles do you target with your brews?

To be honest, I'm pretty lazy with my water, I dont make any additions for pH adjustment ...yet. I'm still starting out brewing and learning as I go. Most batches have turned out very drinkable though with a pretty neutral pH.
